Itinerary

Map of Highlights of Tanzania

Days 1-3 Dar es Salaam, Tanzania to Zanzibar.

Starting in Dar es Salaam, we take a ferry to spend three nights on the relaxing paradise island of Zanzibar. Many people choose to stay for a night in the pretty capital ‘Stone Town’, then head to the palm-fringed shores and warm waters of the northern beaches!

Day 4 Zanzibar to Dar es Salaam.

Reluctantly leaving Zanzibar, we catch the ferry back to spend a night in Tanzania’s main port city, ‘Dar’.

Day 5 Dar es Salaam to Pangani/ Moshi.

We join our overland truck and travel inland to the grassy plains of northern Tanzania.

Day 6 Pangani/Moshi to Arusha.

We continue on to Tanzania’s ‘safari capital’ Arusha, passing by Africa’s highest peak, Mt. Kilimanjaro (5895m).

Day 7 Arusha.

Whilst here we can meet the reptilian inhabitants of Meserani Snake Park and take a guided walk to the local Maasai village to learn about their traditional culture.

Days 8-10 Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha.

Transferring to 4x4 vehicles, we enjoy a 2 night/3 day game viewing excursion to the Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Crater and Olduvai Gorge. We hope to find the ‘Big Five’ as well as hyena, cheetah, wildebeest and antelope.

Day 11 Arusha to Nairobi, Kenya.

We cross the border into Kenya, where we say our goodbyes in the capital Nairobi.
