Itinerary

Day 1 Sydney to Crescent Head (Surfing).
From Australia’s largest city we head northwards, with a quick stopover in Kempsey (home of the “Akubra” hat), to the untouched beaches of the Central Coast. (D)
Day 2 -3 Crescent Head to Byron Bay.
We hit the beach early for a surf lesson then we will check out Coffs Harbour and the “Big Banana”, before reaching Byron Bay with a full day to explore to your heart’s content. (B, L) (B)
Day 4 Byron Bay to Gold Coast.
It’s a short hop today across the Tweed River to the Gold Coast. One of Australia’s most popular holiday spots, you have time to explore before we regroup for dinner. (B, D)
Day 5 Gold Coast to Noosa.
Today we arrive in Brisbane for a cruise along its famous river. Then we head along the Bruce Highway, passing the Glasshouse Mountain Range en route to the resort town of Noosa. There’s an option to hop off at Australia Zoo on the way. (B)
Day 6 Fraser Island.
We’re taking a guided 4WD tour around the world’s largest sand island today before enjoying a “fair dinkum” (authentic) Aussie barbecue. (B, L)
Day 7 Noosa to Kroombit Park.
This morning the choice is yours, work on your tan at one of Australia’s favourite surf beaches or hike to the national park. This afternoon we head “bush” to our working cattle station, for a taste of “Outback Hospitality”. (B, D)
Day 8 Kroombit Park to Emu Park, via Rockhampton.
Try your hand at a goat rodeo or maybe an outback quad bike ride before heading to Emu Park, via the “Cattle City” of Rockhampton. (B, L, D)
Day 9 Emu Park to the Whitsundays (Sailing).
Today we’re heading for some of the most beautiful islands in the world, the Whitsundays. Our overnight cruise in our racing maxi-yacht in as unforgettable experience. (B, D)
Day 10 The Whitsundays (South Molle Island).
Get ready for a day of sailing! Weather permitting; we’ll visit Whitehaven Beach and Blue Pearl Bay then we plot a course for South Molle Island. (B, L, D)
Day 11 The Whitsundays (South Molle Island).
Feed the Rainbow Lorikeets, go snorkelling or swimming. There are bushwalking tracks with scenic views and 17 private beaches if you want to get away. A walk up “Spion Kop” is a must. (B, D)
Day 12 The Whitsundays to Cairns.
We’re up sailing early today, heading back to the mainland and Airlie Beach. From here we head to tropical Cairns. (B)
Day 13 Cairns.
Where the rainforest meets the reef, that’s where you’ll find Cairns. Why not spend the day diving or snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef, a highlight of any visit to tropical North Queensland. (B)
Day 14 Cairns.
Travel one of Australia’s most scenic coastal drives to the Daintree region and meet the traditional custodians of the region, the Kubirri brothers of the Kuku Yalanji tribe. They’ll show us traditional spear fishing and teach about their culture. (B)
Day 15 Cairns to Alice Springs.
Today our flight will take us from the tropics to the centre of outback Australia. Enjoy some relaxation time before you begin your outback adventure. Note: flight is included in the trip price. (B)
Day 16 Alice Springs to Kata Tjuta & Uluru.
We start our day at the Outback Camel Farm, with an optional camel ride. Then it’s onto Uluru (Ayers Rock) for lunch, before travelling to nearby Kata Tjuta. We’re back at Uluru for the sunset so get comfortable in your swag (Aussie bedroll) as we sleep under the stars. (B, L, D)
Day 17 Uluru (Ayers Rock) to Kings Canyon.
It’s an early start to catch the sunrise and a base tour. Get an insight into the traditional owners of the land at the Cultural Centre. There’s time for lunch, before we travel to our campsite in Watarrka National Park, best known for Kings Canyon. (B, L, D)
Day 18 Kings Canyon to Alice Springs.
Prepare for some serious walking today with a hike through Kings Canyon. We head back to the station for lunch, before heading to Alice Springs where our journey together comes to an end. (B, L)
A sleeping bag is required for camping in the Northern Territory. Bring your own or hire one locally for AUD$20.
