Itinerary

Day 1 Sydney to Crescent Head (surfing).
Our trip commences in Sydney, where we head towards Queensland and the tropics. We’ll make a quick stopover in Kempsey (home of the “Akubra” hat), before arriving at the pristine beaches of the Central Coast. Take in the shimmering Pacific Ocean with a surfing lesson, or just kick back and enjoy the natural scenery. (D)
Day 2 Crescent Head to Byron Bay.
We hit the beach early for another surf lesson before heading up the coast. We will check out Coffs Harbour and the “Big Banana”, before reaching Byron Bay, the easternmost point on the mainland. World renowned for its superb beaches and eclectic lifestyle, it’s a resort town so good some visitors have never left! (B, L)
Day 3 Byron Bay.
A full day in Byron leaves you with a veritable cavalcade of options: try out sea kayaking, diving, or skydiving perhaps? Maybe you’d prefer to experience the arts and crafts of the local area, or take a walk to Cape Byron. Then again, the beach could be calling your name... (B)
Day 4 Byron Bay to Gold Coast.
Today we make the short trip over the border and into Queensland to the Gold Coast. Tonight get a taste of the best nightlife this side of the equator. (B, D)
Day 5 Gold Coast to Noosa.
Arrive in Brisbane, capital of Queensland, for a cruise along its famous river. Then it’s onwards and upwards along the Bruce Highway, we drive past the Glasshouse Mountain range en route to Noosa, a popular resort town on the Sunshine Coast. There’s an option to hop off at Australia Zoo on the way. (B)
Day 6 Fraser Island.
Today we visit the world’s largest sand island, and a UNESCO World Heritage-listed site, Fraser Island! We’ll take a 4-wheel drive tour and guided rainforest walk followed by an Aussie Barbecue on the banks of stunning Lake McKenzie. (B, L)
Day 7 Noosa to Kroombit Park.
This morning the choice is yours, work on your tan on Noosa’s beautiful surf beach or maybe hike to the national park. This afternoon we head “bush” to our working cattle station, for a taste of “Outback Hospitality”. (B, D)
Day 8 Kroombit Park to Emu Park, via Rockhampton.
Try your hand at a goat rodeo or maybe an outback quad bike ride before heading to the beach side town of Emu Park. Along the way we stop at the “Cattle City” of Rockhampton (known as “Rocky” to the locals). (B, L, D)
Day 9 Emu Park to The Whitsundays (Sailing).
Next we travel to Airlie Beach, resort town and gateway to the Whitsunday Islands. Step aboard our racing maxi-yacht and tonight you’ll gaze upon the stars from the deck and enjoy the relaxed vibes. (B, D)
Day 10 The Whitsundays (South Molle Island).
Wake up from the shelter of a nearby cove and get ready for a day of sailing! Weather permitting; we'll visit Whitehaven Beach (the whitest sand you've ever seen) and Blue Pearl Bay. Then we plot a course for nearby South Molle Island, our home for the next two nights – take a turn on the helm if you're up for it!. (B, L, D)
Day 11 The Whitsundays (South Molle Island).
Explore the idyllic surrounds of South Molle Island. Feed the Rainbow Lorikeets, go snorkelling or swimming. Bushwalking tracks are available, with scenic views of the Whitsundays and 17 private beaches. A walk up “Spion Kop” is a must. (B, D)
Day 12 The Whitsundays to Cairns.
We’re up sailing early today, heading back to the mainland and Airlie Beach. From here, we head towards the far north, passing through Townsville, it’s not far to the city of Cairns. (B)
Day 13 Cairns.
Where the rainforest meets the reef, that’s where you’ll find Cairns. Take advantage of these two spectacular natural landscapes with a day free for optional activities! Why not spend the day diving or snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef, a highlight of any visit to tropical North Queensland. (B)
Day 14 Cairns.
Travel one of Australia’s most scenic coastal drives to the Daintree region and meet the traditional custodians of the region, the Kubirri brothers of the Kuku Yalanji tribe. They’ll show us traditional spear fishing and teach about their culture. This afternoon we return to Cairns where we say goodbye. (B)
