DAY 1 Prague, Czech Republic.

Today arrive in the beautiful ‘City of a Hundred Spires’. Meet our fellow travellers and Trip Leader at the hotel for our walking tour followed by a welcome dinner. (D)

 

DAY 2 Prague.

We’re off to check out the sights such as the Old Town Square, Charles Bridge, the Astronomical Clock and Prague Castle. Prague is justly famous for its nightlife – from traditional beer halls to the largest club in Eastern Europe. And make sure you keep an eye open for the mysterious Golem of Prague – traditionally found in the historic Jewish Quarter. (B)

 

DAY 3 Prague to Krakow, Poland.

Today a sobering visit to the former concentration camps of Auschwitz and Birkenau. Then on to Krakow, one of Poland’s most charming cities. (B,D)

 

DAY 4 Krakow.

Today we have a free day to explore. Choose from tours of the Jewish Quarter to visiting the 13th century Wieliczka salt mines. There is also the historic centre which includes the Old Town, Kazimierz and the Wawel Castle. (B)

 

DAY 5 Krakow to Budapest, Hungary via Slovakia.

Today we head to the twin cities of Buda and Pest situated on the banks of the mighty River Danube. We stay at famous Hotel Gellert, home to some of the city’s finest thermal baths! (B,D)

 

DAY 6 Budapest.

Take advantage of free entry to the Gellert Baths, then perhaps explore the fascinating markets. In one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, wander the banks of the Danube, the Buda Castle Quarter, Andrássy Avenue and Heroes’ Square. (B)

 

DAYS 7-8 Budapest to Vienna, Austria via Slovakia.

We stop off in Bratislava before heading on to Vienna by boat. Vienna is a musical gold mine – from the Vienna Boys’ Choir to Viennese concerts in spectacular palaces, this city proves that classical can be cool! Make sure you try the tasty Wiener Schnitzel with a side of sauerkraut followed by some Apfelstrudel. (B,D) (B)

 

DAY 9 Vienna to Ceský Krumlov, Czech Republic.

Ceský Krumlov is a beautiful city in the Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic and the old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We can visit the castle district or relax in the many cafes and bars. (B,D)

 

DAY 10 Ceský Krumlov to Prague.

Today we return to Prague where our trip ends this afternoon. Bid farewell to our crew, trip mates and new friends. (B)
