Itinerary

Day 1 Athens, Greece

Dinner with our new travelling companions starts our trip. (D)

 

Days 2-4 Athens to Mykonos

3 nights to explore one of the world’s most visited islands. (B) (B,D) (B)

 

Day 5 Mykonos to Athens

Return ferry to Athens. (B)

 

Day 6 Athens to Meteora

North to Meteora, where we visit the complex of cliff top monasteries. (B,D)

 

Day 7 Meteora to Tirana, Albania

To Albania, once cut off from the western world. (B,L,D)

 

Days 8-9 Tirana to Dubrovnik, Croatia via Montenegro

On to Montenegro then across the border to Dubrovnik. (B,D) (B)

 

Day 10 Dubrovnik to Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina

A fascinating city heroically re-building itself from its recent tragic past. (B,D)

 

Day 11 Sarajevo to Belgrade, Serbia

Travel via Srebrenica, location of the Bosnian massacre of 1995. Then on to Belgrade capital of Serbia. (B)

 

Days 12-13 Belgrade to Budapest, Hungary

Budapest on the mighty Danube is where we spend the next two nights. (B,D) (B)

 

Day 14 Budapest to Vienna, Austria

On to charming Vienna, home to opera and apple strudel. (B)

 

Days 15-16 Vienna to Prague, Czech Republic

Our walking tour is a great introduction to this charming city. (B,D) (B)

 

Days 17-18 Prague to Berlin, Germany

Historic Dresden is first before we head to Berlin. (B,D) (B)

 

Day S 19-20 Berlin to Amsterdam, Netherlands

To Amsterdam, famous for its canals. A final farewell dinner tonight. (B,L) (B,D)

 

Day 21 Amsterdam to London

Back to London via Brugge. (B)
