Itinerary

DAY 1 London to Amsterdam, Netherlands (option to join in Amsterdam).
An English Channel crossing to France by ferry begins our journey. In Calais we meet our Topdeck Driver and head north to Amsterdam, a city of amazing contrasts – bicycles, clogs, tulips and the infamous Red Light District. (D)
DAY 2 Amsterdam.
Our bicycle tour is a great way to see Amsterdam… shoulder to shoulder with the locals! Enjoy the rest of the day to experience the many diverse activities that Amsterdam has to offer. (B)
DAY 3 Amsterdam to Berlin, Germany.
On to funky and modern Berlin, one of our favourite cities... brilliant food, people, history, nightlife. It has everything to do and never enough time to do it all! (B,D)
DAY 4 Berlin.
A city tour takes in the Berlin Wall, Checkpoint Charlie and the Reichstag building starts the day. Explore at your own pace until the evening when it is time to discover the Berlin nightlife – legendary! (B)
DAY 5 Berlin to Prague, Czech Republic.
From Berlin there is time to visit the 800 year old city of Dresden. In Prague our walking tour features cobblestone streets, impressive Gothic architecture and captivating history at every turn. (B,L,D)
DAY 6 Prague.
Free time today to explore Prague’s nooks and crannies. This evening there are loads of restaurants to choose from. Prague also lays claim to some of the world’s finest beers and wonderful beer cellars in which to try some! (B)
DAY 7 Prague to Munich, Germany.
From the cellars of Prague to beer halls and roasted pork knuckles of cosmopolitan Munich! The capital of Bavaria is a charming overnight stop. (B,L)
DAY 8 Munich to Venice, Italy via Innsbruck, Austria.
A former winter Olympic city, Innsbruck in Austria, is our stopover point on the way south. Our final destination today is poles apart – Venice, the “City of Canals”, awaits to show off its extraordinary riches. (B,D)
DAY 9 Venice.
We take an informative walking tour of this beautiful city before experiencing a vaporetto ride on the Grand Canal. Feel free to indulge in an optional gondola ride and wander the maze of back-streets to immerse yourself in its magic. (B,D)
DAY 10 Venice to Rome.
The eternal city of Rome is next on our travels. Our walking tour includes the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, the ancient Roman Forum, the Colosseum and more. (B,L)
DAY 11 Rome.
There’s an opportunity to visit the Vatican’s Sistine Chapel and St Peter’s Basilica today. Then free time to explore Palantine Hill (the ancient commercial and political heart of Rome), shop or see the Colosseum! (B,D)
DAY 12 Rome to Florence.
North today to the home of elegant piazzas and artistic masterpieces – Florence. The history and culture here has created an ‘outdoor museum’ with some of Europe’s finest shopping and delicious Tuscan food! (B)
DAY 13 Florence to Swiss Alps, Switzerland.
A short drive to the Leaning Tower of Pisa, then on to scenic Switzerland. We stay in the tiny village of Lauterbrunnen nestled at the foot of the Jungfrau Mountain. (B,D)
DAY 14 Swiss Alps.
An optional ride to the top of the spectacular snow-capped Jungfrau Mountain is amazing! On a clear day you can see into France and Germany! (B,L,D)
DAY 15 Swiss Alps to Paris, France.
The view out the window today is stunning. This evening we get our first taste of French cuisine in iconic Paris and enjoy a ‘City Lights’ tour ready for tomorrow – our chance to explore this beautiful city. (B,L,D)
DAY 16 Paris.
Free time today to “do” Paris at our own pace – Notre Dame Cathedral, the Louvre or the impressive Musée d’Orsay. Alternatively, take in the sights on a bicycle tour. Tonight, we indulge in a Paris Gourmet Picnic dinner near the Eiffel Tower. Either an optional Seine River Cruise or one of the oldest cabaret shows in Paris at the famous Paradis Latin is on offer. (B,D)
DAY 17 Paris to London.
We depart from Paris this morning and make our way back to Calais for our ferry. Our trip finishes this evening back in London. (B)
