Itinerary

DAY 1 Barcelona, Spain.

Welcome to Spain! This afternoon we meet our Trip Leader for a tour of the funky Catalan capital. Barcelona is a dynamic city where surreal architecture, a thriving port, and modern lifestyle offer a cultural cocktail! There’s no better place to begin our Spanish Fiesta. (D)

DAY 2 Barcelona.

Discover what makes Barcelona tick with afree day. Gaze at Gaudí’s bizarre works such as la Sagrada Familia, Casa Batlló or Park Güell, check out the Gothic historic centre or wander Las Ramblas, crowded with flower sellers and street performers, in search of a plate of tapas and a memento of Spain. Tonight we check out a Flamenco show, where we can enjoy flamboyant dancers performing this remarkable, passionate dance to the beautiful strains of Spanish guitar. (B)

DAY 3 Barcelona to Madrid.

First stop today is Zaragoza, the capital of the autonomous community of Aragon, before arriving in magical Madrid. Here we see landmarks such as the Royal Palace, the home to one of Europe’s oldest monarchies, and the Plaza de España, the city’s main square. (B,D)

DAY 4 Madrid.

There is free time today to taste the various cultural and artistic aspects of this cosmopolitan city. Visit the Prado Museum with its fine collection of European art, watch the passing parade in the Plaza Mayor, relax in the peaceful botanical gardens, or visit the home of Real Madrid Football Club! (B)

DAY 5 Madrid to Valencia.

This morning we visit the World Heritage City Toledo, once the capital of Spain. We then cross to the coast and spend tonight in Valencia, situated in the centre of the Spanish Mediterranean coastline. After a walking tour around the fascinating Old Quarter, we enjoy an included dinner. (B,D)

DAYS 6–8 Valencia to Ibiza.

Lazy days and crazy nights! After a morning in Valenica we catch a ferry across and have three nights to explore the Mediterranean party paradise of Ibiza. Known for its world famous nightlife, clubs and top international DJs, Ibiza is the place to really let your hair down. Spend your days soaking up the sun by the beach or check out some of the island’s untouched World Heritage Sites including “God’s Finger” in the Benirràs Bay. (B) (B,D) (B)

DAY 9 Ibiza to Barcelona.

Today we head back to the mainland to Barcelona for our final night and a farewell dinner. The host city of the 1992 Summer Olympics is one of the most popular in Europe, with good reason! Perhaps find out why its nightlife is so legendary with a final night out. (B,D)

DAY 10 Barcelona.

Our trip ends today after breakfast. Say ‘adios’ to our crew, trip mates and new friends. (B)
