Arriving early this morning, it’s time to enjoy our full cooked breakfast at the campsite. After checking into our spacious pre-erected tents (with air mattresses supplied) you will get back on the coach and head in to the beer halls, ready for the opening ceremony festivities! Day 3 Munich - 22 September 2013 (Opening Weekend)
After breakfast, those wishing to sample another side of Germany may wish to join us for a sobering experience on our included excursion to Dachau Concentration Camp. This site just north of Munich was the first Concentration Camp in Germany, now preserved as a memorial to the millions that perished in the Holocaust. Take the time to view the stark remains of this infamous site or ponder the eerie silence that seems to prevail. We return to Munich for the afternoon to further explore its attractions or those wishing to head back to the beer halls can do so. (B)
Day 4 Munich - 23 September 2013 (Opening Weekend)
This morning after your full cooked breakfast, we load the coach and head into Munich city centre for our included walking tour of this gorgeous German city. See the Old Town Hall, Church of our Lady and the Glockenspiel in Marienplatz. After the walking tour the morning is yours to do as you please! For those of you who wish to head into the beer halls it is a short train ride away from the city centre. Or if you are all Oktoberfest-ed out, why not stay in town and explore what else Munich has to offer? (B)
Day 5 Munich to Prague - 24 September 2013 (Opening Weekend)
This morning after your full cooked breakfast we load our coach and head north from Munich towards the Czech Republic border to travel to the capital Prague. Stunning architecture, fascinating history, incredible nightlife – there’s a reason why this is a real favourite of Topdeck crew! Our walking tour of the city takes in Gothic masterpieces such as the Hradcany Castle, Charles Bridge, and the stunning Tyn Church. After we have checked in this afternoon at our comfortable hostel, why not take the opportunity to sample some of the best nightlife in Europe! (B)
Day 6 Prague - 25 September 2013 (Opening Weekend)
After breakfast we have a free morning to explore the beautiful city of Prague, hidden for decades behind the ‘Iron Curtain’ that divided East and West Europe, but now a hugely popular destination and a true gem of Eastern Europe. Why not get your portrait painted by the artists on Charles Bridge, take in a traditional marionette puppet show, or visit the Jewish Quarter and its remarkable synagogues. We leave Prague this afternoon to head back to Calais on our overnight drive. (B)
