Itinerary

Day 1 - Munich

Arrive at our hostel near the Oktoberfest grounds this afternoon for check-in. A Topdeck representative will be on site to answer any questions you may have about Oktoberfest and your trip. This evening we meet for a tour briefing, before heading into Munich city centre for our walking tour, where you will see the Old Town Hall, Church of our Lady and the Glockenspiel in Marienplatz. The evening is yours to do as you please - why not try some delicious pork knuckles and sauerkraut in one of Munich’s beer houses, or check out the famous “devil’s footstep” in the Frauenkirche.

 

Day 2 - Munich 

After your continental breakfast this morning you have a full day to enjoy the world's BIGGEST public festival. Your Topdeck trip leader will guide you on the short walk from the hostel to the Oktoberfest grounds, where you can visit some of the dozen or so massive beer tents with their traditional 'Oompah Bands', sample a few of the local schnapps or maybe even enjoy one of the rides at the fairground. (B)

 

Day 3 - Munich

After breakfast this morning, those wanting to sample another side of Germany may wish to join us for our optional excursion to Dachau Concentration Camp. This site, just north of Munich, was the first Concentration Camp in Germany and is now preserved as a memorial to the millions that perished in the Holocaust. Take the time to view the stark remains of this infamous site or ponder the eerie silence that seems to prevail. After spending some time taking in Dachau’s memorial, we head back to Munich to spend our final afternoon at the Oktoberfest grounds, or for those wishing to rest the liver why not jump on one of the many carnival rides or head into the city for some sightseeing! (B)

 

Day 4 - Munich

All good things must come to an end, and after breakfast it’s time to say goodbye to Oktoberfest for another year. For those not leaving Munich until later today, why not store your bags in luggage storage at the hostel and head out for one last stein! (B)
