On clearing customs and immigration we travel across northern France, crossing the German border near the Netherlands, towards our destination of Munich! Pleasekeep in mind that this is an overnight journey so we recommend that you prepare accordingly - pillows and blankets are a good idea!
Day 2 Munich for Opening Ceremony - 22 September 2012 (Opening Weekend)
Arriving early this morning, it’s time to enjoy our full cooked breakfast at the campsite. After checking into our spacious pre-erected tents (with air mattresses supplied) you will get back on the coach and head in to the beer halls, ready for the opening ceremony festivities! Now it's time to enjoy the world's BIGGEST public festival. Take the chance of a few steins, a couple of schnapps, or maybe even enjoy one of the rides at the fairground. It's certainly an experience you will not want to forget! (B)
Day 3 Munich - 23 September 2012 (Opening Weekend)
After your fully cooked breakfast this morning the day is yours to do as you please! For those of you who wish to head into the beer halls why not visit those halls that you missed yesterday and sample the local delicacy of a roasted pork knuckle with your stein. For those wishing to rest the liver, the atmosphere around the festival is second to none and there is plenty to see and do... why not jump on one of the many carnival rides or head into the city for some sightseeing! (B)
Day 4 Munich - 24 September 2012 (Opening Weekend)
This morning after your full cooked breakfast, we load the coach and head into Munich city centre for our included walking tour of this gorgeous German city. See the Old Town Hall, Church of our Lady and the Glockenspiel in Marienplatz. After the walking tour the morning is yours to do as you please! For those of you who wish to head into the beer halls it is a short train ride away from the city centre. Or if you are all Oktoberfest-ed out, why not stay in town and explore what else Munich has to offer? We leave Munich this afternoon to head back to Calais on our overnight drive. (B)
