Itinerary
Day 1 London to Pamplona - 4 July 2012
We depart London for Dover this afternoon, where we board our ferry to Calais to start our European adventure. On reaching Calais we board our Topdeck coach and settle in for the overnight drive, travelling south through the Loire valley towards the Spanish border, crossing near San Sebastian. Please keep in mind that this is an overnight journey so we recommend that you prepare accordingly, pillows and blankets are a good idea!
Day 2 Pamplona - 5 July 2012
We will arrive at our campsite mid-morning and check in to our pre-erected twin–share tents, before heading into Pamplona for our orientation tour this afternoon in preparation for the festivities tomorrow. Walk along the bull run route, get your costumes ready for the San Fermin festival or sample some of the local tapas bars, ready for the excitement of the opening ceremony tomorrow.
Day 3 Pamplona “San Fermin” Opening Ceremony - 6 July 2012
Head into town this morning to get ready for the San Fermin opening ceremony! At midday a rocket is fired from the balcony of the Town Hall which signals the start of the San Fermin festivities. The party continues all day, with cava, sangria, flour and eggs filling the streets of Pamplona. (B)
Day 4 Pamplona - 7 July 2012
Today is the first “Running of the Bulls”, which takes place at 8am each day of the San Fermin festivities. Following the run there is entertainment all over the town, from street parties to bull fights. This afternoon why not relax at the optional Topdeck Sangria BBQ - indulge in food and sangria before heading back into Pamplona for an evening in town partying with the Spanish. (B)
Day 5 San Sebastian Day Trip - 8 July 2012
Another opportunity to “Run with the Bulls” this morning – or for the non-runners, why not just soak up the amazing atmosphere that fills the streets! Afterwards we’ll head straight to San Sebastian with its sandy beaches, old town and chilled out atmosphere! This evening you can head back to the campsite, or choose to party in Pamplona with a late night shuttle return from town.
Day 6 Pamplona - 9 July 2012
This morning is your final opportunity to check out a bull run in town, before we head back to camp for our full cooked breakfast. It’s then time to say goodbye to new friends and continue on with our travels as your trip finishes today after breakfast. (B)
