DAY 1 Venice, Friday, 7 February 2014

Benvenuti in Italia! Our trip begins today in the glorious Italian city of Venice, a perennial favourite of Topdeck crew. We meet at our fantastic accommodation in Mestre, just across the lagoon from Venice’s main islands for a welcome meeting where we will hear more details about the trip. We then spend the evening getting to know our fellow travellers. A great chance to get into the spirit of Venice Carnival!

 

DAY 2 Venice, Saturday, 8 February 2014

After breakfast we will have the opportunity to travel by motorboat across the Venetian lagoons, where a truly unique city will unfold. Built on an archipelago of small islands, Venice's network of canals and narrow passageways means that a walking tour with our Topdeck Trip Leader is the only way to appreciate its splendours. Why not take an optional gondola ride with the group through the canals of Venice? This afternoon is yours to explore the festive atmosphere of Venice during Carnival, and perhaps even get your own Venetian mask to wear as you explore the city! (B)

 

DAY 3 Venice, Sunday, 9 February 2014

Today is the biggest day of the Carnival, with street and canal parades showcasing the amazing costumes. The squares of Venice will be overflowing with live entertainment and activities for everyone to enjoy. For those who wish to see more that Venice has to offer, who not catch a vaporetto to one of Venice’s outer islands? Each has its own unique character and style, like Burano, famous for its colourful houses and lace making history, Murano, famous for its beautiful glass, or Lido, famous for its sandy beach front. Tonight is our last chance to toast the memories of the past few days at Carnival! (B)

 

DAY 4 Venice, Monday, 10 February 2014

The tour finishes this morning after breakfast, when it will be time to say a fond farewell to our Topdeck companions! Enjoy the remainder of your stay in fantastic Venice! (B)
