Enjoyed the trip. However as a first time traveller I wasn’t aware about each hostel having a lot of stairs, long periods of walking from bus to hostel because the bus wasn’t able to get right outside. I also wasn’t aware of other recommendations that were cited as being must sees so I booked early only to be told they were 1hour + wait times to see so I couldn’t go. Also, didn’t know about towels etc costing money as each place would of brought my own. Plus in regards to the optional activities I think it would be far more efficient to have an online service where we can click what we would like to do and pay for it then and there rather then giving cash for optionals everyday as it was very annoying and very messy. I would of preferred to get all the optionals settled before starting the trip.

Every day stop or stayover in the chosen cities and at the chosen hostels/apartments were amazing. The guest experience was one of a kind and the included meals were much better than expected. All the included sights and day tours were well worth and well valued.

Topdeck were good, our tripleader was alright. She herself and her personality were good, however I've been on other group trips and what I was expecting wasn't delivered. For example, most trip leaders as your approach each country would teach you some of the basic language. We only got that for France. Not to mention I heard Milly say on the trip that she didn't care because it was her last trip for the season.
Also, Pag Island needs to be removed from your trip on off season. It was raining, there were dead animals on the street of our hostel, the food at our hostel was terrible. Either go to a different place in Croatia or spend a night in Slovenia, I know a lot of people on my trip would have preferred that.

Pretty expensive trip, considering some of the hostels we stayed at. Not many of the activities were included in the already expensive price.

Perfect amount of time and amazing locations! There was a lot of time to do everything. Nothing was rushed.

You will come back a seasoned traveller. This trip is amazing for a snapshot tour of Europe. Having your accommodation,travel food and some activities already catered for means you are able to enjoy the little things and look forwards to what you will see, as opposed to worrying about if you have enough money left to sleep with a roof over your head. The activities all ranged from sporting and active, to nights out, to new activities to food tasting and visiting famous places. The walking and driving tours are great and really help free up some time that you would probably spend looking for these places. Our tour leaders also gave us the option to try activities that weren't previously on the planning sheet, such as vineyard wine tasting, a medieval dinner and a sex show (can't say I actually did that last one XD). Even better was the option of knowing you could just disappear and do your own thing, by the end of the trip the amount of group activities was generally cut back to meal times so it gave us more freedom and practice to venture out alone. Which if like me you were initially new to this, gave me the confidence to jump on a bike or bus and just go in any direction which before the trip I wouldn't have been able to do that.

Great staff! Plenty of opportunities to experience a bit of each city. Best for those who are happy with a fast pace and early morning starts.

I liked that several of our meals were provided by TopDeck. I also liked the cities that we traveled to. I did not like that many of our accommodations were outside of the cities we were visiting because we were unable to experience local culture. I felt that TopDeck tried to keep us separate from the locals on many occasions which took away from the overall traveling experience. I also thought that my tour guide (Jane) was very unhelpful when some of the travelers legitimately needed help. For example, Jane seemed very reluctant to help one of the travelers who was very sick and wanted to know where she should go for medical care. The girl was crying because she was in so much pain, but Jane acted like she couldn't be bothered to help direct the girl for medical care. This is my biggest complaint of the trip because I feel that travelers with TopDeck should be able to trust that their tour guide will be there for them when they truly need assistance.

It was rushed which is to be understood but it would have been amazing to have more time in Slovenia and know about off season in Croatia.

Get to see so much in such a small amount of time!!

value for money for someone who is time poor and wants to see a lot in a short amount of time. and is to lazy to organise it al themselves as that can be stressful and time consuming - top deck does it all for you. great way to meet people

The grand European was an exceptional tour. It visited so many different countries and cities throughout Europe and all of them were beautiful. The tour provided some great optional activities along the way to which helped see the cities in different ways.

Our trip leaders Emily and Mike were great!
Met some amazing people whom I still stay in regular contact with. Both Emily and Mike knew a lot about where we were going and the history.
The wifi on our bus didn't work but it wasn't a big issue as most places we stayed had decent wifi

I think it was great value for money and was pleasantly surprised with the little bit of culture that we were introduced in every country with the included meals

My first trip to Europe! I'm a massive art enthusiast (I work in an art gallery at home) and loved the trip! - Topdeck doesn't really Focus on the arts, it's kinda just thrown in here and there - which is a shame, Europe has so much to offer!! - but my tour leader made a huge effort to make sure I knew where all the galleries were and was incredible in Venice (he spent his free time running around checking to make sure galleries were open for me - I was guttered the Peggy Guggenheim was closed) he truely went above and beyond!

The ability to experience so many different cultures, languages, people and moments from history in one tour was breathtaking.

4 weeks was the perfect amount of time to be living out of a suitcase spending only a day or 2 in one place. By the last few days I was exhausted and ready for my own bed! It's crazy to think how much was crammed in to such a small time frame.

Staff, locations, timetable, all were put together extremely well to maximise the time for a short but worthwhile trip.

The tour showed us so much of Europe! So many countries and amazing places.

The tour ticked lots of boxes, and visited all the places in Europe I had dreamed of going. I just wish our Trip leader was more professional and less inappropriate. The other trip leaders from Topdeck groups we passed seemed awesome, so it seems to be hit or miss.

Visited some wonderful places that I am now so fortunate to have seen. Met the best group of people whom 1 year later we are all still friends and have made trips across the globe to go and visit.

Grand European covers a good chunk of Europe and isn't overly to long, just enough time to bond with what will end up being some exceptionally awesome people - both the Topdeck team and your new Topdeck buddies and at the same time visiting amazing places.

Perfect, ould not complain at all. The destinations were amazing, most of the accommodation was fantastic and the whole thing was jam packed full of activities and fun. Our trip leader, John McCarten, made the tour what it was. Incredibly informative, well organised and social, he brought the tour together as a group. Antonio our coach driver has amazing as well. Cared for us, our experience, and took great care of our coach. My only advice would have been to change hotels in Pag Island but I believe you may already have done that. Other than that, have already recommended you to friends for all the above reasons, and looking forward to taking another trip soon
