This was the perfect short trip. Going into booking this I was made aware that I was booking a sector of a much larger group tour. I was daunted by this but I didn’t need to be. Our tour leader, driver and fellow Topdeckers made me feel extremely welcome from day 1. There were plenty of opportunities to do group activities as well as to go off exploring on our own. Each day our tour leader made recommendations and many cities included a free walking tour held by himself. As a solo traveler I couldn’t recommend this mode of travel enough! I only travelled with the group for 6 days but it boosted my confidence to continue my solo travels afterwards. Be prepared though to be social and involve yourself in some partying as this makes building relationships that much easier.

Hungary, Poland and Czech Republic were beautiful. I loved being able to experience 3 different countries within a week.

Guides were disappointing. Drunk every night and sleeping with tourists on the trip

Would have been better if it had been advertised as a part of the winter tour and have had options to extend through to London

Locations were great, but with the large number of free days within the tour, there is almost no reason to be on tour. As i could have spent the same time and done the same things myself without having to pay for a tour as well as any activities and sights. The provided meals were passable, however I did not travel to the other side of the world to eat hostel food, I want to eat where the locals eat, be immersed in their culture.

The organisation was terrible, it was not clear to anyone in the group we would be joining an existing group. Communication from the leader was very poor. The accommodation was terrible - the "hotel upgrade" in Kraków was awful, it was the worst place we stayed the whole trip so the "upgrade" is cleqrly a technicality in the name of the venue, very misleading. Also that accommodation was located a fifteen minute DRIVE from the city centre with no public transport available which is a joke.
At the start of the tour the guide told us a lot of people on the tour we were joining (which as stated above, no one in the joining group was aware of until that moment) had throat tickles and had lost their voices from some big nights partying. After 2 days with this group I had a chest infection. I have never had a chest infection and have not been that sick or in that much pain in my life. I later found out the people with "throat tickles and lost voices" were very sick, had been to the doctor and even prescribed antibiotics. It was incredibly irresponsible of the guide to not inform us properly (I asked him about this and he was fully aware of how sick everyone actually was) about the extent of everyone's sickness when we were in such close proximity to them for extended periods.
