Really good trip with a few areas of improvement! I recommend this trip.

Our trip leader Hayley was fantastic and made this experience wonderful.

The good:
Excellent but limited included experiences with the Fado show and port wine tasting, and Valley of the Fallen tour.
Great locations to visit, and the accommodation was safe and clean, with Lisbon and San Sebastián in great locations.
Great to have a full day in each city. Hayley gave us excellent walking tours and suggestions for each city.
The driving days had some good stops - especially Sintra! Recommend the hike up to the palace if you have decent fitness and footwear as it’s great.
The dinner activity in Porto was fabulous, beautiful food and hosts
Delicious food everywhere 😊
And of course a lovely tour group!

The areas to improve:
The bus driver wasn’t a Topdeck driver and only got us from A-B; no driving tours or chit chat. The travel days were usually full days 8-9-4-5pm or later - it would have been much better if we could start earlier and get more time in each city.

Some of the hotels (especially Madrid and Barcelona) were really far away from the city centre and required Ubers or 1+ hour on public transport to get in. Should be max 30 mins walking distance otherwise we spend a lot of time trying to get transport!

Optional food experiences were very exxy and could be done DIY for much cheaper. Would have been good to have some more included experiences given the tour cost.

The bus got to Barcelona at 7pm on the last day after a full day of driving and the hotel is very far from the city centre - as we had a flight the next day we actually didn’t get any time at all to see the city except at our final dinner :( We didn’t realise how late the arrival would be until it was too late to change flights.

Make sure you book an extra night, or preferably Topdeck should add one extra day to the tour! Otherwise there’s not much point having Barcelona on the itinerary.

Hayley was an excellent guide; somehow combing the care of a loving auntie, the adventurous nature of a friend and the knowledge of a sage.

Great trip!! From the hotels, to the optional extras and the time spent in each place was awesome. Didn't feel too rushed, the travel days weren't too bad/long and all of the group activities really helped me experience and immerse myself into the Portugese and Spanish culture

A good way to see a lot in a short period of time. Our guide was amazing, hotels nice overall, included dinners were somewhat disappointing.

The delve deep tour was a great way to see the biggest destinations on the Iberian Peninsula and also tick off some smaller, gorgeous sites that would have easily been overlooked. So many great opportunities to see, taste, and enjoy the culture of the cities we visited. Our trip leader was super knowledgeable and made sure everyone on the tour got the most out of our experiences. The size of the group was perfect to make new friends without it being too hectic.

Had such an amazing time travelling through Topdeck with an awesome crew!!

The trip was great, spent decent time in each spot and the walking tours everywhere were great.

Laura was incredible, she was so helpful and always made sure we were having the best time and the most fun possible

I had an amazing trip with Topdeck and this route in particular was amazing to taste a bit of Europe as well as Africa.
But the highlight was definitely our trip lead Laura. She was absolutely phenomenal with her language skills, communication, vibes, knowledge and everything else. She made it clear it was our trip and we able to do what we please during the days and made us feel extremely comfortable to talk to her if we ever needed. She was friendly, kind, welcoming, knowledgeable and amazing. I will genuinely miss her as a person!!!!

The June 2024 trip was amazing! Martina was an excellent trip leader who made the trip effortlessly more enjoyable, she had great recommendations and made our travel days fun with her jokes and commentary!

The trip would be made better if it was slightly longer by 2-4 days, this would allow for an extra day in Madrid, Barcelona and Porto. It would also be great to see one more city! Activity wise the meal in Segovia could be replaced with a Flamenco show in Madrid, as with a sit down meal there isn’t much time to see Segovia.

Martina was an amazing trip leader full of knowledge of all the places we visited. It was great to get information from her about everything to do around the places we visited as well as learn about the history.

Whilst the city orientations were good, it would have been nice to potentially get a guide for the main cities and see a bit more with them.

The temple of the fallen was great to go and see however the guide was very quiet so couldn’t hear her much so wasn’t really worth it.

It would have been good to have a few more activities included or some more optional activities available as most days were free days and some additional guidance would have been nice. For example having a set night/time to go and see a flamenco show rather than organising it ourselves.

Overall great trip, the small group size was perfect, and our tour leader Monik was simply amazing, super knowledgeable, always friendly and helpful and making sure everyone was included and happy. The only suggestion I can think is for improving the trip itinerary for the drive day from Porto to Madrid as there were no sights to visit along the way, just a stop for lunch at a roadside service station near the Spain/Portugal border. Maybe worth flying for that leg instead. Also I wish I’d known to book an extra night in Barcelona at the end of the trip, as you arrive in the evening on the last day and won’t have time to do much there unless staying an extra night. Also prior to the trip it was quite difficult to contact Topdeck customer service about my booking, they did not reply to any emails, I eventually got it sorted via a phone call.

5 Star trip! Our trip leader Monik made the trip informative and lots of fun! She was knowledgeable about many different places and landmarks, kept the group engaged and made everyone feel taken care of. The trip had a perfect balance of activities and free time, lots to see and do everywhere we went

The overall layout and locations visited on the tour were great, but it would've been nice to have more inclusions (i.e walking tours) and optional activities. We had included driving tours in certain destinations, but our bus driver said he would not drive us there due to his working hours and that it was 'too busy'. As this was an inclusion in our tour package, the drivers' hours should've been factored in. He would also argue with our Tour leader about our inclusions, which made everyone feel very uneasy on the bus.

A lot of cities and free time which was great but sometimes the group wanted to do things together like dinners or a rooftop bar but our tour manager wasn’t interested or said he didn’t know what bars or restaurants would take larger booking and pretty much said it’s not her job to book for us or organise anything. We only saw her on actual travel days besides one walking tour which was good but we all met in town rather than leaving from our accommodation which would make better sense as we didn’t know how to get into town at that stage?
Some of the things she told us were wrong- she wasn’t very knowledgeable and even told us it was only her second time doing the trip which was noticeable.

Good variety of places visited. Most hotel were good.
Good amount of free time in each place.

The TopDeck Trip Leader was shocking! I did Not pay for such terrible service. He was too old for the group and didn’t know how to connect with us. Everyone on the trip was extremely frustrated by his lack of initiative.

Laura our guide was amazing and very helpful for the whole group teaching us some Spanish and helping translate. The accommodation was nice and the itinerary was good. Would have been nice to spend some more time in Lisbon with our guide.

The festoons on the trip were amazing along with the experiences and activities along the way. I would recommend that the walking tour in Tangier is dropped as it was rushed and wasn’t of much interest to myself or the group, instead spend more time in Chefchaouen. I would also have liked more time in Lisbon but I understand this is a new trip split into two from an old tour. I also thoroughly enjoyed the second night of Fes where the local guide took us out for the night, this should be included in future trips as it was a highlight for the whole group. Finally the best part about this trip was our guide Laura. She’s was amazing at every turn from her knowledge to her energy. There is nothing she wasn’t willing to do to make our experience better and of the many tours I have done she is the best and my favourite guide I have ever had and hope to travel with her again.

The Areas and countries that the trip covered was great. we experienced different cultures. Different foods. Loved the history we saw and learned about.

I thought it was well organised and I loved all the walking tours! Wish the trip was a bit longer so you could have seen more of Portugal.

It’s good. There is quite a bit of free time though so be prepared to plan out your own days.

Great pace of tour. Allowing for sight seeing but still getting a lot done in the short amount of days. Paula the guide was also very knowledgeable about everything and she had such a fun and lovely personality it really added to the whole experience

Spain was incredible, everything that was organised through Spain was just so memorable. I quickly added Spain to my list of favourite places I've visited, highly highly recommended!
I booked this tour because it went to Morocco, as I was under the impression I shouldn't do it alone and it was high on my bucket list.
Morocco sure was a letdown unfortunately, I 100% put this down to the trip leader we had for that leg of the trip. He was nice enough but I believe he is used to showing around an older demographic, he skipped over the history and ruins but would constantly point out 4&5 star hotels, which we were all super confused about.
He also recommended places for lunch/dinner, which were massive disappointments, especially the 50 euro dinner and show he'd organised.
On our Fes city tour, he took us to all the places he's obviously pre-organised, which is to be expected, but these were all super touristy places, again probably because he's used to an older demographic that likes that kind of thing. We were told not to go off on our own as it was too dangerous, and after speaking with locals that live there, this is just not true. I believe we were scared into not wanting to leave the group so we went to the places he wanted us to go to.
The three cities we visited were so far away from each other too, the first stop was Chefchauen, which we didn't arrive at until 9 PM, and that was with an on-time ferry, so we only got a few hours the next day to explore, and we weren't allowed to do this on our own either, the trip leader took us on a walking tour, and would get very upset if people fell behind. At one point a few of us broke away from the tour, because we are adults and perfectly capable of looking after ourselves, he'd made everyone stand in one spot for about 20 minutes while he tried to find us. Being hand-walked around the city is not my idea of travel, I was there to explore and be present were I was, not walk past, take a photo, and leave.
The third city we went to was Asilha, while it was super beautiful, again we only has a few hours at night and a few hours the next morning to explore, it was a very small city with not much to do, so this was so bad, but felt like we could have skipped this city and had more time in Chefchauen.

We then went back up to Spain and had an included dinner with Flamenco show that evening, which was absolutely amazing, and very memorable. Then onto Portugal the next day, the included dinner that night was at an Italian restaurant, which was odd, we were in Portugal and were taken for Italian, the food was pretty poor too, with a few getting a tad sick the next day.

In summary and in my opinion, this trip needs to be split up, either Spain and Morocco, with more time in these places, and most definitely get a different tour operator in Morocco, it was the biggest letdown.
Or Spain and Portugal, with more time in Portugal.
Trying to fit in all three meant far too much driving time, and Morocco was left unexplored.
Also, for those who struggle to see famine and animal abuse, Morocco will be difficult to explore without seeing these things.

Comparably to my 2019 experience with topdeck I was rather disappointed. Being twin accommodations I thought there would be a higher quality that was not the case. The local tour guide provided in Morocco wasted a lot of our time taking us to sightsee 4 and 5 star hotel (because of this we only had 1 hour the next morning to go on a walking tour of CHEFCHAQUEN which we all would have wanted to spend more time and he didn’t bother to answer the question we had he kept saying later. We missed the status of Hercules because it was closed? He took us to “shop” where we were ripped off by the merchant found the exact same item 10 times less but that wasn’t as big a deal just annoying. If you are going to call a tour Spain morocco, and Portugal then I feel like you should spend more than the night in Portugal, otherwise call it a morocco Spain tour. last comment if we have a bus driver it would be nice to use the bus when possible not having to pay to get to the walking tour another added cost which was not a thing in the past

This trip was not value for money. Overall the locations and places visited were outstanding.

Accommodation in Morocco was appalling and food quality was poor. Level of accommodation in Spain and Portugal was passable.

Spain and Portugal are stunning. Always lots to see wherever we stopped over.
Our tour leader, Danny, however could have been better in terms of really making sure the group was on time to the coach and having consequences for the ones who put us behind 30 minutes for our travelling time. Sometimes unprofessional and I felt he wasn’t totally organised. Was very informative and knew his history about the places we visited, but also felt as though he would speel off about things that weren’t necessary.

It was just enough time to see all the great highlights. I loved the route!

It's only 8 full days not 10. Considering the cost for the trip, not much was included apart from some meals and accomodation and transport. Our driving tours were short and optional activities were also limited.

Overall it was average and a rip off for the money I paid. The guide lacked in depth knowledge about the places we visited, in particular Morocco. We were told meals were optional and then walked into restaurants where it was impossible to leave and given no other options or information about the area. The meals were then extremely expensive considering we were in Morocco. The provided meals from Topdeck across the whole tour (Spain and Portugal) were too small or of bad quality as well. Overall felt like I paid for far more than what was included, misleading brochures on the quality of service. Should be provided with a guide or suggestions of things to do while in each place

Overall the countries/cities we went to were amazing. The bus ride was entertaining. The hostels were in great locations. I just wish the experience had more positive memories than negative.

Included tours could have been more guided rather than showing some things and then sending on your way for a few hours. Included food was hit and miss.

Accommodation was better than expected, guide was great and the places visited were all worth seeing.

The worst travelling experience ever!
Terrible food (in fact you didn't feed us properly either), terrible accommodations (one of the place you claimed to be "hotel" room smelled like urine and didn't do anything about it when a group of us complained.
The worst of the worst was the "hammam" experience they took us in Morocco. Total rip off when the tour guide told us it's the best hammam she could ever experience in her life - filthy and unsanitary public bath - not even, there was not even a bath tub! Just buckets of water off of ONE water hose that everyone shared. NOT WORTH A PENNY. Can't believe Topdeck works with this so called "hammam."

Most of the kids in the group were spoiled Aussies who don't have any respect for different cultures and rules. These kids were all about drugs, sex, and alcohol. NEVER want to see the EVER again.

I WILL NEVER TRAVEL WITH TOPDECK. SIMPLY THE WORST. DOESN'T DESERVE A STAR. THANKS FOR RUINING MY SUMMER VACATION.
