Trip Overview

(Previously called: Moroccan Explorer) TRIP VIBE = iconic sights and in-depth adventures with a local Trip Leader. Thought Morocco was all #wanderlust pics of bazaars, riding camels and a whole lot of couscous? Well yeah, there’s that... but in 11 incredible days with us you’ll see the side of Morocco your Instagram feed can’t do justice. Delve deeper into a unique culture, throw yourself into new experiences and discover a world unlike any other with a small group of absolute legends. Yalla!

Worth noting…
Important note on Ramadan: as many Middle Eastern countries are of Islamic faith, it is important to remember that lots of restaurants and shops will either be closed or operating on reduced hours during Ramadan. As a result, some optional and included activities on your trip may be affected. Ramadan, which takes place from 2 April to 1 May in 2022, is an incredibly important and sacred month for Muslims. When equipped with some basic knowledge, you’ll have the chance to immerse yourself in this special tradition and experience all its highlights.

This trip was one of the best things I have ever done. Everyday we remarked how well planned it was and how lucky we were to be seeing Morocco this way. Each stop is more amazing than the next, and the local tours with local guides were the perfect way to get introduced to our new surroundings. Doing Morocco with topdeck is perfect and having an amazing tour guide such as Adil made the trip even better. He was passionate, knowledgeable and kind and I feel blessed to have met him and to have experienced the beauty of Morocco this way.

I am very happy with the tour overall and liked that I could see a little bit of each city. I feel like I got a well-rounded view of Morocco. However, I felt that the day in Fes was a bit rushed and that we were just taken to different places and exploited for our money. We were taken to several different shops and learned a lot about the different products they sell in the markets, but ultimately felt like the group was being herded around to spend money at overpriced shops that the tour guides had prior agreements with. In one instance, Ali G had mentioned that some scarf shops sell cheap scarves that run color when wet. He, of course, ditched us during the day in Fes and the local tour guide took us to one of these shops that sell "cheap scarves" and each paid between 100-200 moroccan dollars for each because that was the "lowest price" and we were rushed to get to the next destination. As soon as Ali sees us with the scarves, the first thing he does is put water on one and sees it run where he makes a comment about how they're cheap and makes us feel stupid.

The day in Fes could've been planned out better where we could've been given more time to look on our own without feeling like we were being herded around to spend money.
